The best mp3 player is one that suits your lifestyle and gives you the storage space that you need.

When you're out shopping for the best mp3 player, you want to get one has a big enough hard drive to hold all of your music collection or at least the amount that you want to carry around with you. Another feature you should consider when looking for the best media player is the aesthetical features that you need.

Do you like the look and feel of the player? Does it look like some that you would carry around and use quite frequently or, does it look too functional and techy?

These are the major factors that will determine whether or not you like your mp3 player and how often you will use it. You also want to check the sound quality. There is a slight variation in the sound that you receive from the different brands and also the type of headphones that you use.

Just like your regular stereo or portable CD player, if headphones are not of a high quality, you will get a squeaky sounding player that can easily ruin your favorite song.

The best mp3 players will include as much functionality as possible inside the case of the media player itself. If you need to do frequent memory upgrades as you add more tunes, then perhaps you should go ahead and buy one with a large hard drive even though you will have more space than you would need. You also want to consider the life of the battery.

Are you going to be using your media player in frequent short spurts like driving in the car or while you're outside jogging? Then the design of machine is a bit more important because you have a greater chance of dropping or scratching the mp3 player.

If you plan to use it for six hours per day while doing chores and other tasks, then the battery life and sound quality is important. You don't want to stop playing the music every couple of hours and you don't to hear bad versions of really good songs in your ear.
