When you initially start a weight loss plan, cutting back on sweets and other junk food is a great start. Even checking the calorie and fat content on food labels is a wise decision. But read on!
You may be making some mistakes and not even realizing it. Check out some of these weight loss diet mistakes and find out whether your eating habits are affecting your efforts to lose weight.
Mistakes:
1. Skipping Breakfast
If you skip breakfast, you are setting yourself up to overeat all day. A decent breakfast, such as a serving of oatmeal, some egg whites, and a serving of fruit, jump starts your metabolism and prevents you from stuffing yourself at lunch.
2. You don't drink enough Water
Water is so important to a healthy body. Try to drink at least 6-8 cups a day.
3. You eat low fat snacks.
Low fat doesn't mean low calorie. Watch the calories of these snacks and also avoid the snacks that contain trans fats.
4. You eat only 3 meals a day
While this may work for some people, actually eating 5-6 times a day not only keeps your metabolism in high gear but levels out your blood sugar.
5. you don't eat carbs (carbohydrates)
Let's face it, carbohydrates are your body's main fuel source for energy and you should incorporate fruit, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet. Avoid processed carbohydrates like cookies, crackers, etc
